Michael Campa, PGA

Director of Instruction

Michael Campa was born and raised in Austin, Texas and has had a love of golf for a lifetime. He attended Sam Houston State University where he graduated with a degree in Business and went through the PGA Golf Management Program.


He began his teaching career at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club where he worked in a team environment with over 80 junior golfers. Michael later joined Canyon Creek Country Club as the Director of Instruction where he built a junior academy from scratch, oversaw junior and adult programs, and led private and group instruction along with summer golf camps.


Michael continues to advance his teaching skills by attending teaching workshops around the country and consulting with top PGA Instructors across the nation. Michael is a PGA Professional and is a Certified Plane Truth Level 1 Instructor.

David Flores is a McKinney, Texas native, graduating from McKinney High School where he was on the golf team all four years. During this time, David developed an interest for teaching the game he’s played his whole life.


David began his teaching career at Eldorado Country Club where he created the market to have a junior program. He assists the Director of Instruction, Michael Campa, with facilitating and expanding The Academy, and he also assists with adult clinics.

The Academy at Eldorado is a year-round program for juniors ages 7-14 that focuses on their full game development.


The Academy focuses on everything from fundamentals to short game to full swing as well as playing the course often. In The Academy, we utilize a game-based learning development program called Discover Golf to keep the juniors engaged and excited about learning the game of golf.


The Academy is divided into two groups depending on the junior’s age and skill level and meets for 90 minutes two times a week. Each group will have an 8:1 student to teacher ratio.

In the Academy at Eldorado we word hard, but we have fun.

PGA Junior League is a way for juniors to play team golf with their peers in a fun, competitive environment. PGA Junior League is designed for golfers of all skill levels ages 13 and under, and no prior golf experience is required. Teams of juniors will play 9-hole matches in a two-person scramble format. PGA Junior League also includes weekly practices before each match. There will be 6 matches on the following dates:

Youngsters Play Golf (YPG) is a developmental program that is one day a week for kids ages 4-6.


YPG is designed to be a fun way to help juniors develop their basic motor skills while introducing them to the game of golf. YPG also helps teach juniors the fundamentals of golf and golf etiquette through game-based learning.


Youngsters who want to play golf will meet every Saturday for one hour at 9am. Pricing for YPG is $120/month for members or $160/month for non-members.

Summer Camps at Eldorado are designed for juniors of all skill levels ages 6-14. We make golf FUN first and teach the fundamentals necessary to improve immediately as well as build a solid foundation for the future. In golf summer camp, juniors will work together and problem solve with other juniors in a team environment which allows the juniors to learn from each other to further develop their golf skills. We also utilize Discover Golf game-based learning along with other various teaching approaches to tailor instruction for each junior. Summer camp at Eldorado will keep your junior entertained, active and learning all summer long.

Associations

Each golf association at Eldorado Country Club is strong in size and actively welcoming new Members to join them. If you are interested in learning more about a certain association, please contact the Golf Shop staff for more information.

The MGA is a very active group with over 150 members. They play at least 1 tournament per month.

SMGA-The SMGA is a very active and fun group of guys who play on Tuesday mornings and they also do fun events throughout the year like the Mars vs Venus and Tin Cup.

The EWGA is our 18 hole ladies golf group. This great group of ladies have play days on Thursday or Saturday mornings and also have several tournaments from March to February.

ENGA is a fun group of ladies who play 9 holes Wednesday mornings March to November. They play tournaments throughout the course of their season as well.
